Step into a realm where traditional meets contemporary at the “Found in Translation” exhibition curated by textile artist Liz Smith.
With experimentation and curiosity Liz has translated the paintings and sculptures of five local artists into tactile pieces, using the techniques of hand tufting and intricate embroideries.
Each piece in this collaboration blends the worlds of visual and tactile expression and visitors to the gallery are invited to explore the rich textures and vibrant colours of each work. Liz’s innovative interpretation offers a fresh perspective on the intersection of art and craft, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in a multisensory experience.

Muriwai Arts Open Studios
The Annual Muriwai Arts Open Studios art Trail is happening on 25/26 November 2023. Mark it in your diary - a not-to-be-missed community event showcasing the very best of local Muriwai artists. My studio will be open - come and visit me and try out my tufting gun!

Held around the kitchen table at Muriwai Beach, Auckland - a very relaxed and informal setting with a spectacular view of the beach.
10am - 3pm including half an hour for lunch (byo).

Muriwai Arts Group Show
Over 100 artists from around the Muriwai, Auckland area will be presenting their work at this prestigious event. Held every two years at the Muriwai Surf Club it’s a showcase of local talent including painting, ceramics, jewellery, weaving, carving, photography and textiles. I will have three works on display - hand tufted “pop art” portraits….come and see the show!
